Under Decision No. 99/1 (2013), the Ministry of Environment implements a voluntary carbon footprint reporting programme to encourage private sector companies to measure, report, and manage their greenhouse gas emissions. The programme is supported by dedicated training sessions and technical guidance to help companies use the Ministry’s Carbon Footprint Calculator, follow the reporting guide, and explore additional options through the Carbon Offset Calculator. 

Companies that successfully submit and verify their emissions data receive official certificates from the Ministry of Environment, recognizing their commitment to climate transparency, environmental responsibility, and Lebanon’s national climate action efforts.
